Everybody knows Courtney Love, especially because she was connected to Kurt Cobain, who was considered a God among musicians. Love even had her own band, but a serious drug problem and way too much overspending led her to massive financial issues.
When she was at her lowest point, without even a house to live in, Courtney had $4000 and she moved with her daughter, Francis Bean Cobain, into an apartment that was rented. When her husband – Kurt Cobain, the lead singer of Nirvana – died, she inherited over $200 million, as well as the publishing rights to all of band’s songs.
She didn’t know how to manage that much money and in a few years she lost almost all of the rights, because of lawsuits.
Therefore, she was forced to sell the rights to the Nirvana songs as well as her house.
