You could do good deeds often
You can help people and animals that are in need even though you can’t get out of your house these days. How can you do this? Well, you can donate money, clothes and food virtually. Volunteering can be a good deed, whether we are talking about physically helping someone or letting someone in front of you in line at the supermarket. So, not only are you performing an act of kindness, but you will also increase your level of happiness. Moreover, as the saying goes ‘treat others how you would like to be treated’, if you believe in karma, then you will get back your good deeds.Â
According to Stephen G. Post, PhD, a professor of bioethics at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, sometimes we need to get a positive reaction from people around us. “There are ample studies showing that when people receive generosity and compassion, there is a positive effect on their health and well-being. When a compassionate physician creates a safe haven for the ill patient, the patient experiences relief from stress. One study showed that when men felt loved by their wives, they were less likely to experience chest pain that might signal a heart attack.”
