Cracking your knuckles
Many of you have probably heard about the myth that cracking your knuckles can cause arthritis. Well, this is not actually true. The truth is that everyone does it and scientists found out that up to 54 percent of individuals can’t get rid of this habit.
In case you did not know this before, all joints in the body have certain mobility. When you crack your knuckles you stretch the joint membrane, the ligaments become flexible so they can stretch to a certain extent. There are also fluid inside our joints, which are meant to keep them lubricated. Inside the fluids, there are dissolved gases, such as nitrogen and oxygen.Â
Nevertheless, even though cracking your knuckles does not cause arthritis, it is still possible to affect your ligaments in the long run.
