Always lock out your lost or stolen devicesÂ
Locking out your user account is another important thing that you have to keep in mind if you lost your phone or laptop or if you were the victim of pickpocket crime. Smartphones usually ask you to create an account to operate, so it should be immediately deleted or locked out if you do not own it anymore.Â
“If a mobile device is lost – laptop, USB drive, smartphone, etc. – and it has company data on it, report to your IT department immediately so user accounts can be disabled and/or monitored for suspicious activity and devices can be locked out of the network,” explained Michael Bisso, Director of IT at Edelstein & Co.
