We’ve all been there. You’re visiting a city you’ve never been into and, as you’re walking down the streets, you get and strange feeling and you could swear you’ve been there before. The way people around you move, the buildings, everything seems so familiar it’s already creepy. However, you do know that you’ve never seen those things ever before.

So what the heck is going on with your brain?!

You probably already know that this strange sensation is called deja-vu (‘already seen’) and if you thought you’re special, more than 70% of the world population also experiences it.

For scientists, discovering the origins of deja-vu is one of the greatest challenges. This event can’t be predicted and it only lasts for a few seconds, so it’s nearly impossible to study it. However, there are a few theories that seem pretty logical.
