Phoebe Cates

Phoebe Cates is an American former actress, singer and model. She starred in several films, including the comedy-drama film Fast Times at Ridgemont High (1982), the comedy horror film Gremlins (1984), the comedy fantasy film Drop Dead Fred (1991).  She was born in New York City and her parents were television and Broadway production insiders.

Cates said publicly stat she chose a modeling career because she needed money, although she disliked this industry. However, after ending her modeling and dancing career, she decided to start acting, but her father wasn’t enthusiastic about her decision.

Nevertheless, she retired from screen acting, and in 2005, she decided to open up a New York City boutique called Blue Tree.

  1. Very misleading title. None of these stars went on to “regular” jobs.
    Resting on your wealth and racing cars or writing books is not having a regular job.
