It’s no secret that almost everyone wants a small and straight nose, as it is the most common indicator of beauty in almost every country in the world, especially in Iran. Thus, nose surgery is very popular there because it will not only increase your confidence and self esteem levels, but it can also be a symbol of a certain status in society. 

To be more specific, people opt for this kind of surgery to look more beautiful, to find a partner easily and to feel good in their own skin, but the operation is too expensive and not everyone can afford one, and if you can, then it means that you come from a higher social class.

The truth is that all these informal norms of the society we live in tend to constrain and frustrate us, especially when we can’t afford various things to keep up with other ‘cool’ people. So, in order to get validation from other people around us – and sometimes even to feel superior – we can end up doing ridiculous things without realizing it.
