5. Arthur (2011)
Steve Gordon directed Arthur in 1981, starring Dudley Moore. In the 2011 version, the role of Arthur is taken over by Russell Brand, who did not rise to the performance of Dudley Moore.
Few elements are more important in a remake than casting. For example, Russell Brand’s remake of Arthur lacked the charm and elegance of Dudley Moore’s original. We can say that Moore somehow managed to make his Arthur endearing and lovable, while Brand’s Arthur is puerile, infantile and hateful
Not even the great Helen Mirren, Jennifer Garner, Greta Gerwig, and Nick Nolte couldn’t save this bad remake. Overall, the 2011’s Arthur received generally negative reviews, both from critics, and from fans.
