6. A Nightmare On Elm Street (2010)
From the first trailers, the film promised a thrilling reinvention of the first Elm Street, with a little more emphasis on the story behind the evil Freddy Kruger. However, the remake only resumed the same scenes from the original, plus a few more current elements.
The most successful scenes are when the viewer wonders if Freddy was guilty or not before he was executed. But even this premise is quickly forgotten, just to make room for unsalted jokes and cheap scares.
Overall, audiences were disappointed with the 2010 adaptation of A Nightmare On Elm Street. The film is close to the 1984 horror, and the choice of Jackie Earle Haley as Freddy Kruger proved to be inspiring, but that still didn’t make the movie a success.
