Portia de Rossi

Portia de Rossi is an Australian-American businesswoman, philanthropist, and former model and actress. Her role as Nelle Porter on the American drama series Ally McBeal (1998–2002) earned her a Screen Actors Guild Award.
She said that she chose to change her name legally at the age of 15 due to her struggle about being gay. She chose Portia because she was a Shakespeare fan (Portia is a character in The Merchant of Venice) and De Rossi because she is  Australian and she thought that an exotic Italian name would somehow suit her more than Amanda Rogers.
