The only characters in The Simpsons that have five fingers are God and Jesus Christ. Also, unlike Jesus, God’s face is almost never showed. According to Simon Singh’s book “The Simpsons and Their Mathematical Secerts” (a must-read for every Simpsons fan), the five fingers of the characters symbolises divinity.
