You don’t adopt the “single-use” rule
One of the most common mistakes that many people make is cooking their foods with the same oil over and over again. Oils are “single-use” items, so don’t use them endlessly, because your health will be adversely affected. “So many people use olive oil to cook, but it has a lower smoke point,” Hillary Cecere, MS, RDN, for Eat Clean Bro said.
Unfortunately, many restaurants reuse cooking oil, especially when it comes to preparing French fries. The reused oil can form free radicals, which attack your healthy cells, leading to serious diseases or worsen existing ones. It has been proven that these chemicals found in reused oils can be carcinogenic, namely that they can cause cancer in the long run.
“When someone does not have a deep fryer, it is recommended to use the oil for frying chips only once. When somebody uses a deep fryer such, as common in restaurants, they can reuse the oil three or four times,” said Isidore Sindabarira, a nutritionist. “Reusing cooking oil increases the cholesterol, creates peroxides acid, causes cancer, attacks organ cells and can infect the white blood cells.”
If you want to prevent these potential diseases and stick to a healthy diet, it is recommended to use it only once.
