Dry legumes can last indefinitely

If you already have dry legumes in your pantry, you are lucky because they can last many years. For instance, dried lentils and beans play an important role in our diet because they contribute to improving our health. However, you should know that dry legumes have numerous benefits and if you want to adopt a balanced diet you should include these ingredients in your dietary regimen. They are rich in good fats and contain a lot of essential nutrients that our body needs to function normally.

“These can last indefinitely, but after one year they may need slightly longer cooking times,” says Jennifer Kaplan, an author and an instructor at the Culinary Institute of America. “Store them in an airtight glass container in a cool, dark, dry place. Do not wash until just before use.”
