The blood-red rain falling in IndiaÂ
An unusual phenomenon was reported in India in 2001, when red rain began falling from the skies. Researchers discovered that this rain mysteriously contained cells that are not native to Earth.Â
It is not known where they originated from and what consequences, if any, they might have for life on the planet. Some researchers contend that the color of rain is caused by dust or sand from a distant desert.
