You tend to be less financially responsible
What is the point of making a lot of money if you don’t know how to spend it right? The truth is that being financially responsible is extremely important during the era of consumerism. However, even though you could say that intelligent people have a lot of money because they know how to spend their income so that they can live a more than decent life or that they can save money more easily than the average person, the reality is actually a little different.
According to a 2007 study done by Jay L. Zagorsky, on the impact of IQ on wealth, income and financial distress, published in Intelligence, people with a higher IQ are more likely to be in financial difficulty than other ordinary people. Moreover, higher IQ scores are not always linked to wealth.
In other words, even though smart people can make more money, it doesn’t mean that they are automatically richer than people with low IQ scores. To be more specific, although you make a lot of money every month, if you can’t save any money in your bank account, it means you are not that wealthy as you might think.
