You are more likely to abuse substances
There are many people who believe that only simple minded people or those with poor education are more likely to abuse substances, but in reality, things are slightly different.
According to a 1970 study done by James White and G David Batty, on intelligence in relation to illegal drug abuse, published in the Journal of Epidemiology & Community Health, people with high IQ scores are more likely to increase their risk of illegal drug use.
Researchers say that they don’t yet have a clear explanation for this, but they believe that it may be due to their desire to experience new things and sensations, as well as their need to make up for their lack of happiness.
