Focus on your breathing

According to medical experts, one of the most important things that you have to do when you have a panic attack is to focus on your breathing, namely to breathe as calmly as possible.

Also, if you are witnessing someone who has a panic attack, don’t tell them to take a deep breath because they can over inhale carbon dioxide, which makes their condition worse.

Instead, you should tell them to close their mouths and breathe quietly through their nose, as slowly and calmly as possible. The explanation is that, by doing so, they will restore carbon dioxide levels, making them feel safe again.
