Holographs (1977)
Star Wars introduced us to plenty of cool innovations (see: lightsabers). But most of them aren’t real… save for one. Ever since 1977’s A New Hope, holograms have been an essential part of the Star Wars universe.
And now, thanks to Euclidean Holographics, an Australian company, they’re part of our universe, too. Holographic tables have recently been made available to the public, mainly in the forms of games or virtual tourism. They’re expensive (reportedly, each table will run you nearly $100,000), but hey, the tech exists and The Force was first to see it coming.
