You don’t believe that your posture can influence your mood

Even though it may sound a little crazy, it is actually a scientifically proven fact that your posture reflects your mood. To be more specific, if you have a poor posture, it has been proven that your mood will be the same. 

According to a study published in the Journal of Behavior Therapy and Experimental Psychiatry in 2017, people who adopt a good posture and keep their back straight are less likely to develop symptoms of stress, depression, and anxiety. Having a good posture can even help you increase your level of happiness, well-being and improve your mood as well. 

The explanation is that when you are happy and in a good mood, your body is relaxed and your self-confidence level is also high, which means that, involuntarily, your body posture is good, namely that your back is straight and you look in front of you (unlike the moments when you are stressed and tend to keep your body hunched). So, consequently, if you are stressed and anxious, but try to keep your back straight, your body sends signals to your brain and then your brain will think that you are happy and will change your mood.

You don’t get enough sleep

As many of you probably already know, just like nutrition or exercise, sleep is one of the most important factors that can affect your overall health. Sleep deprivation can lead to stress and anxiety symptoms or can worsen existing ones. According to medical experts, if you don’t get enough sleep, you are more likely to develop heart disease, diabetes, and even cancer. 

Studies have shown that getting enough quality sleep can improve your mood and reduce stress and anxiety. In addition, people who are sleep deprived tend to eat more calories and have a bigger appetite than those who sleep well. So, if you want to get rid of anxiety and lose a few extra pounds, you should definitely change your sleeping routine.
