You probably know that the Chilean earthquake of April 2014 opened fissures that could lead to a magnitude 8.5 or larger earthquake in Chile. This earthquake created the possibility for an even larger earthquake for Chile in the near future due to the location of the earthquake – the northwest coast of Chile.
