Music behind bars
The powerful voice of the Grammy-winning Carolina Chocolate Drops is Rhiannon Giddens and in February she managed to partner with Carnegie Hall’s Musical Connections program for running a music-education workshop for inmates at Sing Sing Prison. After the workshop, Ms. Giddens performed with a student from workshop who had written a song about domestic abuse.
