3. Phil Spector
Legendary “Wall of Sound” music producer Phil Spector made quite a name for himself as a record producer, musician, and songwriter in the 1960s and is regarded as one of the most influential figures in pop music history and one of the most successful producers of the 1960s working with everyone from the Beatles to Tina Turner.
However, he is far more legendary to contemporary audiences after he was convicted for the 2003 murder of the actress Lana Clarkson and sentenced to 19 years to life in prison. That life would come to an end after, according to a statement from the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, he died on January 6, 2021, after he had been hospitalized with COVID-19 four weeks earlier and returned to prison after beginning to recover, but was sent back to the hospital after suffering breathing issues and soon died.
This next legend made us smile from her island…..
