2. Charley Pride

Charley Pride was undoubtedly a man of many talents. Singer, guitarist, and professional baseball player, he found fame in the late 1960s and was considered country music’s first Black superstar and was one of the most successful country musicians of all time, and the first Black artist to be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. He was also the best-selling performer for RCA Records since Elvis Presley.

He would sadly pass away aged 86 years old in Dallas on December 12, 2020, of complications related to COVID-19 during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in Texas. He was genuinely a trailblazer and a huge loss to the music industry.
