4. Dawn Wells
After being crowned Miss Nevada in 1959 and going on to represent her state in the Miss America 1960 pageant in Atlantic City, New Jersey, Dawn Wells would make her way to Hollywood. Although she had many small roles on numerous TV shows including Maverick, and Bonanza, she would go on to find fame in her signature role of Mary Ann on Gilligan’s Island in 1964.
Unfortunately, in her later years, she fell on hard times, so much so that she created a GoFundMe page in 2018 to help her cope with financial trouble from medical care after a fall. Diagnosed with dementia in 2020, Wells died on December 30, 2020, at the age of 82 in Los Angeles, due to causes related to COVID-19 during the COVID-19 pandemic in California.
Sadly, the magic is gone for this next legend…..
