Shaquille O’Neal

Shaquille O’Neal is an American former professional basketball player and rapper. He played for six teams over his 19-year career in the NBA. As you probably already know, he is still regarded as one of the greatest basketball players of all time.

He is the recipient of numerous accolades, including the 1999–2000 Most Valuable Player (MVP) Award, the 1992–93 NBA Rookie of the Year award, 15 All-Star Game selections, three All-Star Game MVP awards, and three Finals MVP awards, to name a few. He is one of only three players to win NBA MVP, All-Star Game MVP and Finals MVP awards (all in 2000; the other players are Willis Reed and Michael Jordan).

He also released a few rap albums, is also an electronic music producer and touring DJ known as DIESEL. However, according to the mass media, O’Neal has always shown an interest in pursuing a career as an officer.

That being said, he attended the Los Angeles County’s Reserve Academy so he could work as a reserve officer with the Los Angeles Port Police. He also helped the authorities by trailing a suspect accused of a hate crime, among other similar cases, becoming a police officer.

1 thought on “11 Celebrities Who Gave Up Fame For a Normal Job”

  1. Very misleading title. None of these stars went on to “regular” jobs.
Resting on your wealth and racing cars or writing books is not having a regular job.
