A high forehead – The Fula people
Women with high foreheads are considered attractive and beautiful in the Fula tribe of Africa. In general, in Western societies, people tend to hide their high forehead by cutting their hair so that they can have bangs that cover a significant part of their face.Â
Unlike these women, the Fula women try to cut their bangs to create the illusion of a bigger forehead. It seems that this standard of beauty was also famous in medieval Europe.
A long neck – Burma
Have you ever wondered why women in Burma wear these big rings around their necks? If yes, then we have the answer. It seems that there are several factors that made this tradition popular, such as the desire to be considered more beautiful, to express their tribal identity and to protect them from tigers.
For example, some of these women say that neck rings were actually a method of self defense against tiger attacks, while others consider them indicators of beauty that represents their culture. In addition, people of Burman believe that the longer the neck, the more beautiful they look.Â
Monobrows – Tajikistan
In Tajikistan, women skip the visit to the beauty salon when it comes to their eyebrows. Their main purpose is to have monobrows to be considered more attractive. Nonetheless, it is quite difficult to grow a monobrow, but women who don’t have one try to create the illusion of monobrows by using black makeup.Â
Monobrows are not only indicators of beauty, but they are also considered a symbol of good life and well-being. Some of these beauty standards may be considered funny and ridiculous by people who don’t understand them, but if you stop for a moment and think about ours, they seem just as strange for other cultures.
