You will be less likely to develop Alzheimer’s disease

Alzheimer’s disease is a type of dementia that affects not only your memory and thinking ability, but your behavior as well. In other words, people with Alzheimer’s suffer from memory loss (and other impaired cognitive abilities) which can adversely affect their quality of life.

According to statistics, about 50 million people are dealing with Alzheimer’s. Plus, approximately 200,000 Americans under the age of 65 have younger-onset Alzheimer’s disease. Even if Alzheimer’s is a disease that occurs especially among the elderly, this does not mean that younger adults are not prone to it, especially if they eat large amounts of red meat.

According to a 2017 study done by Susanna C Larsson and colleagues, on modifiable pathways in Alzheimer’s disease, published in the BMJ, red meat is high in iron and too much iron in your brain can lead to Alzheimer’s.
