Kim Kardashian West

  • Disease: Psoriasis

Kim Kardashian West is an American media personality, businesswoman, model and producer. She and her family starred in the E! reality television series Keeping Up with the Kardashians (2007–2021). She is one of the most followed people on Instagram. Kim is the founder of KKW Beauty, KKW Fragrance and Skims (which was previously called “Kimono”). She has also become more politically active and is planning to follow in her father Robert Kardashian’s footsteps by becoming a lawyer.

Unfortunately, our beautiful model has been struggling with psoriasis for years. “I have been using this light—and I don’t wanna speak too soon because [the psoriasis] is almost gone — but I’ve been using this light [therapy] and my psoriasis is like 60 percent gone. That’s wild because it hasn’t been gone in years,” She said during a 2017 PEOPLE interview.

About this disease: Psoriasis is a chronic skin disease characterized by red, itchy scaly patches that appear mostly on the knees, elbows, trunk and scalp. Unfortunately, being a chronic disease, there is no cure for it. This disease appears in cycles, flaring for a few weeks (or even months), then subsiding for a while. Although it is a long term disease, there are actually a few treatments that can help people who suffer from psoriasis manage their symptoms.

It’s important to remember that there are many types of psoriasis and their symptoms can vary from person to person. If you see something strange on your skin, try to talk to your doctor as soon as possible.
