Orlando Bloom
- Learning disability: dyslexia
Orlando Bloom is an English actor who has starred in numerous successful films, such as the Pirates of the Caribbean film series, The Lord of the Rings film series, as well as The Hobbit film series. In 2009, the actor was named a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, and a few years later he received the BAFTA Britannia Humanitarian Award.
He studied acting at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. Bloom was diagnosed with dyslexia when he was only seven years old, so he chose an acting career to help him be more confident and creative.
“The gift of dyslexia was that I learned everything forward and backward, inside out, so I was fully prepared. I had to learn everything so that I wouldn’t have stage fright or the lines wouldn’t fall out of my head,” Bloom said.
