It’s hard for you to give up the inaccurate theories you believe in
It’s no secret that people with lower intelligence are more prone to developing irrational beliefs, such as the flat Earth theory or the religious belief that the universe and all beings originated in supernatural acts of divine creation. However, high intelligence doesn’t always mean that you believe only in scientifically proven theories based on logical evidence.
According to some studies, intelligent people tend to rely on various theories that vibrate with their own values and principles, but, due to their ego, they don’t give up the theories they believe in even when someone else proves otherwise. For example, if a person with higher IQ scores believes in creationism, but those beliefs are classified as inaccurate by scientists and other different studies, they still don’t change their minds.
Also, it is almost impossible for smart people to accept that they are wrong about something, especially in certain situations that are important to them. However, as Socrates once said, “I am the wisest man alive, for I know one thing, and that is that I know nothing.”
