John Quincy Adams, the sixth president of the United States – from 1825 to 1829.
Besides the position of president and political life, John Quincy Adams was also a diplomat and a lawyer. There was speculation that he had a most unusual companion because, apparently, he had an alligator as a pet. So, we can say in this case that his pet was the interesting one from the White House and the presence of this unusual pet eclipsed the president.Â
If the rumor is true, it seems that the president kept the animal in one of the bathtubs of the White House. The president John Quincy Adams, as the story goes, received the pet as a gift from Marquis de Lafayette – a French general who played an important role in the Revolutionary War.
