Practice mindful eating
Now that you know what to eat and drink, it’s essential to know how to do it properly, and even though it sounds like a cliché, the truth is that our eating habits can have a big impact on our digestive health. For example, people who eat too fast or consume more food than they actually need at a meal, or even those that skip a meal, are more likely to gain weight, experience abdominal bloating, indigestion, constipation or diarrhea.
However, if you practice mindful eating, you will reap a lot of benefits. Mindful eating means listening to your body (so eat when you are hungry but stop when you are full), eating at set times, having three main meals a day and only two healthy snacks between those principal meals, choosing just healthy foods, focusing on what you have in your plate and chewing slowly.
