You don’t write it down

As we said before, people tend to eat more when they are stressed or bored, so, you should create a diary and write down everything that is going on inside your mind. If you find out that you eat more food (or prefer unhealthy foods) when you are anxious, stressed or depressed, you should talk to a doctor about your problem, because you won’t solve it with food.

“I have a lot of my clients’ journal to become more aware of the other things that are going on in their brain that they’re not paying attention to. When people start to write down what they’re thinking on paper it makes it easier to see what’s really going on,” explained Smith.

“Maybe they’re experiencing some anxiety, stress, or dissatisfaction that [they aren’t addressing]. Sometimes, just being aware of these things can make you more able to discern physical hunger versus emotional hunger,” Smith added. “People might notice that they’re particularly more hungry on days that they’re more stressed.”
