You use food as a relaxation/ comfort method

Unfortunately, people tend to eat when they are bored or stressed because it seems that they can find relaxation or comfort in this activity, but you should give up this method if you want to achieve your goal in terms of weight loss. Maybe your body has other needs, but you think that you are hungry, so try to drink a glass of water instead. 

According to Isabel Smith, MS, RD, CDN, registered dietitian and founder of Isabel Smith Nutrition, “using food as a relaxation method is very common because for a lot of people food comes along with relaxing on the couch at night. What you need to do is tune your brain into paying attention to what’s happening during that day. Ask yourself, ‘Why is this happening? Did I not eat enough? Did I not drink enough water?’ Sometimes not drinking enough water can make you feel hungry when you’re actually thirsty.”
