It is important to get adequate sleep
Well, adequate sleep means getting eight hours of sleep a night – for adults, because kids should sleep more. “Your immune system is like your computer — it needs moments of rest so it doesn’t become overheated,” Moyad explains. “Sleep reboots the system.”
When you do not sleep enough your body releases the stress hormone – such as cortisol – to keep you awake and this can lead to decreased health of the immune system. A study published in the journal of Sleep in 2015 has found that people who got eight hours of sleep a night were less likely to catch a cold than people who were sleep deprived. This is why it is important to get adequate sleep, so just stay safe and take care of yourself.
