De Niro is no stranger to speaking out on controversial subjects and has long been an outspoken critic of former President Donald Trump (we’ll get to him later), he has however lent his considerable support to Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. when he partnered with him at a press conference for his nonprofit advocacy organization, then known as the World Mercury Project.
Not only has the legendary Godfather actor spoke out publicly about whether vaccines are linked to autism but he also let the Tribeca Film Festival, of which he is a co-founder, screen the anti-vaccine “documentary” Vaxxed: From Cover-Up to Catastrophe, directed by Andrew Wakefield, a disgraced doctor widely considered the father of the modern-day anti-vaccine movement.
