Heath Ledger
Heath Ledger was an Australian actor, but moved to the United States in 1998 to pursue a film career. He has starred in many films throughout his career, such as 10 Things I Hate About You (1999), The Patriot (2000), A Knight’s Tale (2001), Monster’s Ball (2001), Lords of Dogtown (2005), Brokeback Mountain (2005), to name a few.
In 2008, the actor was found unconscious in his bed by his housekeeper. According to authorities, Ledger sadly died of an overdose of prescription drugs at the age of 28. His performance as the Joker in The Dark Knight (2008) earned him a posthumous Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor, among other accolades. Both films, The Dark Knight, as well as The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus (2009) were released after his death.
