Get lost in a book or podcast

Another effective technique of relaxation is reading a good book, watching a movie or TV series or simply listening to a podcast. These positive methods are really useful when you are stressed and anxious, so you should try them when you feel down. Nevertheless, the whole idea is to distract yourself from your daily stressors and focus on something that can keep you attentive. 

“Whether it’s a podcast or a really dumb series, mindfully attending to a target is a great anchor,” says Kissen. The mind thinks: “If only I keep thinking and thinking I’ll solve the problem and get out of it,” so stay focused on something else to stop this stress response.
